What is Monarch Giving Day?

Monarch Giving Day is our school community’s 33-hour and 59 second fundraising drive to support our Annual Fund. This incentive-driven 33-hour fundraising event will begin on Tuesday, 11/14/2023 at 12:01 a.m. PST.

Why 33 hours and 59 seconds?

St. Edward Parish School was founded in 1981. Break 1981 into hours and minutes and you get 33 hours and 59 seconds! Monarch Giving Day will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, 11/14/23 and conclude at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 11/15/2023.

What does Monarch Giving Day Support?

Monarch Giving Day is our one-day effort to raise money for our Annual Fund. The total fundraising goal of our 22-32 Annual Fund is $70,000. Our goal is to secure $50,000 on Monarch Giving Day.

Dollars from the Monarch Annual Fund are what allow us to respond to new opportunities for students and faculty each year. Proceeds are used to found four areas:

  • Faculty & Staff Professional Development Opportunities
  • Student Enrichment
  • Campus Enhancement
  • Tuition Assistance

Be it curriculum enhancements, new tools for the classroom, fine arts opportunities, or professional development experiences for our faculty, your support for the Annual Fund allows our teachers and students to MAKE THEIR MARK!

Why doesn’t our tuition support these things?

Our tuition covers our school’s basic operating costs such as salaries, health benefits, and maintaining our facilities and grounds. Each year, the school does budget for some professional development, student enhancement programs and Monarch Tuition Assistance. However, the Monarch Annual Fund gives a necessary boost to these areas.

Has Monarch Giving Day been done before?

Yes! This year’s Monarch Giving Day is our sixth annual drive. The previous five events exceeded our expectations both in school family participation and money raised. We hope for the same level of support on Tuesday, 11/14/23

What is the goal of the Monarch Giving Day?

100% Monarch Participation! A broad base of support, from our entire St. Edward community, is the key to our success. Each gift, no matter the amount, makes an impact on our school.

Why give on Tuesday, November 14th?

Your gift will go further and have a bigger impact, thanks to generous Monarch supporters who have funded more than $10,000 in multiple challenges! Your donation to our school can have a double impact.

What are the Day of Giving challenges?

There will be several giving challenges—one with a dollar goal and one with a participation goal. The challenge funds will be announced and “unlocked” at different points during the Monarch Giving Day.

Where does my gift go, and where do the challenge funds go?

100% of all donations received through Monarch Giving Day go directly to the Monarch Annual Fund. Your donation will support faculty/staff professional development, Student Enrichment, Campus Enhancement and Tuition Assistance. Our annual fund runs from July 1 through June 30. We run this one-day event to maximize our annual fund efforts.

How can I make sure my gift counts on the Monarch Giving Day:

You can make your gift in one of three ways:

  • Online at www.stedschool.org/MonarchGivingDay between 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, 11/14/23 and 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 11/15/23 PST.
  • By phone: at 949-496-1241, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. PST on Tuesday, 11/14/23.
  • In Person: The Front Office will be open from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. for anyone who wishes to drop off a check.

Can I write a check instead of donating online?

Yes! We love to receive donations via check. It saves on credit card processing fees!

  • Make your check payable to St. Edward the Confessor Parish School and write “Day of Giving” in the memo section.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Absolutely! Your gift is 100% tax-deductible. You will receive an acknowledgement letter that will serve as your receipt for tax purposes.

Will Monarch Giving Day only take place online?

In addition to online giving, we will have a Monarch Giving Day headquarters on campus. It will be a hub of activity and fellowship! This year’s Monarch Giving Day will also feature an evening event!
